Microsoft announced that its AI-powered Designer app is now available on iOS and Android, offering innovative creative tools for all users.
Microsoft has officially launched its Canva-like Designer app, making it available to all users on iOS and Android platforms. This application, now accessible in over 80 languages on the web, is available as a free mobile app and as an app for Windows. Designer allows users to generate images and designs through text prompts, creating stickers, greeting cards, invitations, collages, and more. The app includes "prompt templates" designed to stimulate the creative process. These templates offer customizable styles and descriptions and can be shared with others to develop ideas collaboratively.
In addition to stickers, Designer enables the creation of emojis, clip art, wallpapers, monograms, avatars, and other graphic elements via text prompts. Another interesting feature is the ability to edit and restyle images with AI. For instance, users can upload a selfie and choose from various styles, adding extra details to transform the photo. A "replace background" feature will soon be available, allowing image transformation through text prompts.
With the launch of the standalone Designer app, Microsoft announced the integration of the service into applications like Word and PowerPoint through Copilot. Copilot Pro subscribers can create images and designs directly in their workflow. Soon, users will have the option to create banners for their documents in Word based on the document’s content.
Microsoft also revealed that Photos on Windows 11 will get deeper integration with Designer. Users can utilize AI to edit photos without leaving the Photos app, with features like object erasure, background removal, and auto-cropping of images.
These innovations reflect Microsoft’s increasing commitment to making creative tools accessible to a wider audience, integrating advanced AI functionalities into everyday applications. The goal is to facilitate creativity by simplifying complex processes and offering professional results with a few clicks.
