OpenAI and Arianna Huffington have announced the launch of Thrive AI Health, an ambitious project aimed at revolutionizing the way we manage our daily health through artificial intelligence (AI). This project was presented in a Time magazine article by Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, and Arianna Huffington, who emphasized that the new "AI health coach" will be trained using the best available scientific research and personal biometric data voluntarily provided by users.
Thrive AI Health has appointed DeCarlos Love as CEO. Love, with a background at Google and significant experience in developing wearable devices like Fitbit, now leads this innovative project. Thrive AI Health has also established research partnerships with top academic institutions and medical centers, including Stanford Medicine, the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute at West Virginia University, and the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine. Additionally, the Alice L. Walton Foundation is a strategic investor in the project.

For Altman and Huffington, the challenge will be building trust in a product that handles some of the most private information while navigating the limits of AI’s capabilities.
