OPERA ONE R2: NEW BROWSER VERSION WITH ENHANCED AI FEATURES AND MULTIMEDIA ENHANCEMENTS

Opera, the Norwegian company famous for its browsers, has launched Opera One R2, a new version of its core browser for Windows, macOS, and Linux. This version highlights improvements in the use of artificial intelligence, tab management and multimedia experience. Opera One R2 is currently available for testing in the Developer version, while the full launch is expected later this year.

Joanna Czajka, Product Director at Opera, said that users spend many hours a day using the browser, and with Opera One R2 the focus is on the multimedia experience. Opera One, introduced in 2023, integrated Aria, the browser’s native artificial intelligence, and a modular design with a new multithreaded composer. Opera One R2 continues on this path, with an updated design and a focus on multimedia content.

Given the growing demand for online multimedia content, Opera has improved the music player and pop-out video player in Opera One R2. The updated Music Player allows users to pause or skip songs without switching tabs, while the redesigned Video Pop-out allows users to move and resize videos freely.

Opera One R2’s new look includes customizable themes and sound effects for some interactions, enhancing the user interface. New features include the" Split Screen," which allows users to work on two tabs at the same time, increasing productivity. In addition, new Emoji Tabs allow tabs to be decorated and identified with emoji, and tabs leave traces indicating recent visits.

The capabilities of Aria, Opera’s artificial intelligence, have been enhanced in Opera One R2. Aria can now generate images from user prompts and read responses aloud, improving accessibility. It can also analyze images uploaded by users, recognize objects, and solve mathematical problems. Page Context mode offers content summaries, specific information and translations of web pages.

The new features of Opera One R2 will be gradually implemented in the Developer version, which is recommended for developers and advanced users to test new tools and features.
