NEW METHOD TO IMPROVE THE ACCURACY OF CHATBOTS

Experts are exploring new methods to improve the accuracy of AI chatbots, as they often provide inaccurate or meaningless responses.

A recent study published in Nature suggests that chatbots such as ChatGPT and Gemini could be used to detect and correct errors in the responses of other chatbots.

Chatbots generate text using large language models ( LLM ), but they do not fully understand the meaning of their responses.

To address this limitation, the researchers conducted an experiment by asking questions to one Chatbot and using a second Chatbot to analyze and verify the correctness of the answers. This approach, similar to an interrogation, demonstrated 93 percent accuracy.

Sebastian Farquhar, one of the authors of the study, highlighted the importance of identifying errors in AI systems, especially to avoid potential negative impacts in important areas such as radiology.

However, some experts express skepticism about using chatbots to evaluate other chatbots, fearing that this method may perpetuate circularity and bias in AI systems.
