TESLA LAUNCHES OPTIMUS : AUTONOMOUS ROBOTS IN THE FACTORY

Two prototypes of the Optimus robot are already operating autonomously in one of Tesla’s factories.

A recent company post reports that two units of Optimus are being deployed in the factory to perform autonomous tasks.

Until now, Optimus had been shown working only under the supervision of a human operator, performing tasks primarily demonstrative of the level of advancement of its mobility, rather than its development as an autonomous platform.

The announcement of Optimus’ deployment as an autonomous system precedes Tesla’s promised achievement by the end of the year.

This progress is positive news for those eagerly awaiting Tesla’s robot, which Elon Musk says should go on sale as early as next year at an estimated price of around $25,000, about half the cost of a car.

As we wait to find out what the future holds for Musk and the Optimus robot, all we have to do is wait and see if this prediction will materialize, considering that Musk’s timelines have often turned out to be more optimistic than reality.
