Meta is expanding its AI smart glasses line by collaborating with Prada after the success with Ray-Ban and Oakley. Oakley will launch on June 20, estimated price $360.

Key Points:

  • Meta–Prada collaboration for AI smart glasses.
  • Oakley sports model imminent launch on June 20.
  • Expected price for Oakley: around $360.
  • Prada chosen for elegant style and thick arms suitable for components.

Meta continues the evolution of the wearable segment: after selling around two million Ray-Ban Meta since the end of 2023, it is now expanding its offering with two new lines. The first, arriving on June 20, is developed together with Oakley and is aimed at sports users: it is based on the Sphaera model, features the centralized camera – ideal for cyclists and users of sports on the move – and promises resistance to bad weather; the estimated price is around $360. In parallel, a model is being developed with Prada, a high fashion brand that is not part of EssilorLuxottica but a historic partner for frames: glasses with bodywork and thick temples, perfect for integrating chips, microphones and AI components.

Meta’s technical-strategic expansion relies on the strong partnership with EssilorLuxottica: first with Ray-Ban, now with Oakley and – through Prada – an opening to the luxury sector. The success of Ray-Ban Meta has pushed the group to produce up to 10 million smart glasses by 2026. There is still no official confirmation on the price or launch date of the Prada model, nor the precise level of integrated AI functionality; however, it is plausible that it will share features with the existing range – camera, recording, streaming, “Hey Meta” voice control – customized in a fashion key.

On the tech front, Meta is also exploring more advanced devices: Ray-Ban glasses with HUD displays (codenamed Hypernova) set to cost between $1,000 and $1,400, as well as AR prototypes planned for 2027. These remain separate from the Oakley and Prada models, which focus on essential components such as a microphone, camera, speaker, AI and streaming.

Meta is diversifying its smart glasses offering from sports to luxury, consolidating its presence in new segments of technophile and design-conscious consumers.
