Google has officially launched NotebookLM mobile apps for Android and iOS, providing users with an advanced AI assistant for note-taking and research on the go. Announced ahead of Google I/O 2025, this early release gives users access to key features previously only available on desktop.
NotebookLM uses AI to help users understand complex information, offering features such as intelligent summaries and the ability to ask questions about documents and other materials. One of the standout features is the “Audio Overviews” feature, which turns documents into immersive audio conversations between two virtual hosts, available for background and offline playback.
The app allows you to create and view notebooks, and supports adding new sources directly from other applications. For example, when viewing a website, PDF, or YouTube video, you can share the content with NotebookLM to add it as a new source.
NotebookLM is available in over 50 languages, thanks to native audio support from Gemini, Google’s AI. Users can choose the output language in the settings, making it easier to access complex information in different languages.
The app automatically adjusts the light or dark mode based on the user’s device settings, improving the viewing experience.
With the introduction of NotebookLM on mobile devices, Google is expanding the accessibility of its AI assistant, giving users advanced tools for managing information on the go.
