Syntilay, an innovative startup in the footwear industry, recently launched a pair of AI-designed sandals made by 3D printing, offering a customized product for each customer. This initiative marks a significant step in the integration of AI into fashion, with the goal of improving footwear design and production.

Key Points:

  • Syntilay is developing custom shoes using AI to analyze photos of feet and design sandals that fit each individual.
  • The use of AI to create custom shoes represents an innovation in the industry, moving beyond traditional manufacturing methods.
  • Young and ambitious entrepreneur Ben Weiss is joined by Reebok co-founder Joe Foster, combining experience and freshness in the footwear industry.
  • Foster firmly believes in Syntilay’s potential, not only as a successful enterprise, but also as a pioneer in the use of AI in the shoe industry, destined to capture global attention.

Founded by 25-year-old Ben Weiss, Syntilay caught the attention of Reebok co-founder Joe Foster, who decided to partner with the company as a consultant. Foster, with his extensive experience in the industry, said he saw similar potential in the young entrepreneur, expressing confidence in the success of the initiative and its impact on the footwear industry.

The process of creating Syntilay sandals begins by scanning the customer’s foot using a smartphone camera, ensuring a custom fit. Next, AI generates the sandal design, inspired by futuristic elements such as spaceships and yachts, incorporating artwork by artist Syn Mead. The result is a unique product with a distinctive design and customized fit.

It is produced through 3D printing, using materials such as thermoplastic polyurethane, known for its strength and flexibility. This approach not only allows for faster and more sustainable production, but also reduces product development time, giving consumers quicker access to new creations.

Currently, Syntilay sandals are available in five different colors and are priced at $149.99. Despite the higher cost than other products on the market, the company aims to offer a unique experience by combining advanced technology, customization and innovative design.

This initiative represents a fusion of fashion and technology, demonstrating how AI can be creatively applied in the footwear industry, offering personalized and innovative products to consumers.

Syntilay launches first AI-designed and 3D printed sandal.
