Anthropic Accelerates AI: New Features Coming to Claude
Advanced voice mode, personalized memory and new, more powerful models at the heart of the strategy to meet growing market demand
Isabella V21 January 2025

AI company Anthropic plans to launch two-way voice capabilities for Claude and new advanced tools, addressing challenges related to growing demand and industry costs.

Key points:

  • Two-way voice mode for the Claude chatbot in development.
  • Implementation of a memory function for personalized conversations.
  • Increasing demand and shortages in processing capacity.
  • $2 billion fundraising planned with valuation of $60 billion.

Anthropic, one of the most ambitious emerging AI companies, is working to expand the capabilities of its chatbot, Claude. The company plans to introduce a two-way voice mode, a significant upgrade that aims to improve user-machine interaction, making it more natural and immersive. Another major innovation is the integration of an advanced memory function, which will allow the chatbot to retain details about user preferences and previous interactions, something that could revolutionize the level of personalization in the industry. These developments were confirmed by CEO, Dario Amodei, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal during the World Economic Forum in Davos. Amodei also announced the introduction of more sophisticated AI models in the months to come, highlighting how Anthropic is working on an unprecedented technological acceleration.

However, the landscape is not without obstacles. The company is facing exponential growth in demand, which has exceeded available operational capacity in the past three months. This phenomenon reflects increasing competition with industry leader OpenAI in a market characterized by high capital intensity and continuous investment in infrastructure. Despite significant financial support, amounting to $13.7 billion to date, Anthropic has reported large losses over the past year, demonstrating how complex it is to maintain a competitive position in the industry. To support expansion, the company is currently in talks to raise an additional $2 billion, targeting an estimated market valuation of about $60 billion.

Anthropic’s commitment to innovate in such a dynamic environment testifies to its determination to redefine the frontiers of AI, confirming it as a key player in an increasingly competitive global technology environment.
