Now Rabbit is introducing a new “learning mode” feature for its R1 device, which allows users to teach the AI specific tasks through a demonstration process. The feature allows users to automate everyday tasks, such as retrieving updates or creating content, with some limitations related to CAPTCHAs.

Key points:

  •  The learning mode allows R1 to teach personalized tasks.
  •  Users can record and store their actions via RabbitHole.
  •  The feature can be used on all websites, but with some exceptions.
  •  Rabbit also launched the large action model for automatic site navigation.

Rabbit, an innovative smart device company, has introduced a new feature for its R1 device: the “learning mode.” This experimental feature allows users to teach the device’s AI how to perform specific tasks, tailoring automation to individual needs. The process is simple, yet fascinating: the user, through the Rabbithole interface, a web platform designed to manage the device, creates a “lesson” that describes a task and then records a demonstration of how it is to be performed. Once the recording is complete, the user can ask the device to “store” the process so that the AI agent can repeat it independently in the future.

This feature is designed to simplify the execution of often time-consuming tasks, such as retrieving content from social platforms or drafting social media posts, by allowing certain daily tasks to be delegated to a highly customizable virtual assistant. The versatility of the learning mode extends to a wide range of websites, including social media such as X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Spotify and Discord, among others, opening up new possibilities for automating digital routines. However, Rabbit warned users about some limitations: the system may not work properly with sites that implement CAPTCHA protections, an obstacle that has already prevented many R1 devices from completing tasks on certain portals.

Teach functionality is not the only new feature Rabbit has introduced. Last month, the company launched its large action model (LAM), which attempts to navigate websites autonomously, performing actions such as making purchases, responding to emails or obtaining information from various online sources. LAM is designed to further extend the capabilities of the device, providing an even smoother and more independent user experience. In addition to these innovations, users can also customize the R1 device interface with AI prompts, which can be used to refine interactions and make them more intuitive.

Rabbit’s “learning mode” offers a significant step toward personalized automation of everyday tasks. The ability to teach the device new tasks simply by demonstrating how to perform them, combined with increasing interface customization, makes the R1 an increasingly versatile digital companion.

However, the presence of technical hurdles, such as CAPTCHAs, could limit the full experience, remaining an area for improvement to make AI truly universal in handling user needs.
