Today, AMD hosts the event "Advancing at 2024", where it will present new products of products, including Epyc, Instinct and Ryzen Pro. A significant impact is expected in the AI and Data Center sector, with different technological innovations.

Key points:

  • Presentation of the new generation of "Turin" EPYC processors.
  • Launch of the accelerator to the Instinct Mi325x.
  • Introduction of the Ryzen CPU to the Pro 300.
  • Growing competition with Nvidia and Intel in the AI market.

AMD’s "Advancing at 2024" event is configured as an important showcase for new solutions in the AI and Data Center sector, with the company ready to reveal its latest products. Among the most anticipated news is the fifth generation EPYC processor, known as "Turin", which promises advanced performance thanks to the use of the Zen 5 and Zen 5C architecture. These new processors will be available in different configurations, with a maximum of 192 cores, further enhancing the skills of processing servers and positioning themselves as direct competitors of the recent Xeon of Intel offers.

In parallel, AMD will reveal its new accelerator AI, the Instinct Mi325x, which promises to be one of the most sophisticated components of the Mi300 range. This device will be characterized by an impressive memory support, with 288 GB of VRAM HBM3E and a band width of 6 TB/s, thus capable of performing significantly larger models. The FP16 and FP8 processing skills of MI325X will guarantee higher performance, placing AMD in a competitive position in the AI market.

No less significant are the expectations relating to the Ryzen series to the Pro 300, which represents a further step towards the future architecture Strix Halo and Krackan Point. With the expected launch of these APUs in CES 2025, the presentation of the Sku Ryzen at the Pro 300 during today’s event could prove to be strategic. The timing suggests a will to AMD to integrate these new solutions in the market before the arrival of new offers by competitors.

In a context where Nvidia and Intel intensify their presence, AMD seems to prepare for a significant momentum in the AI sector. With the renewed families of products, the company aims to consolidate its position and to guarantee an adequate response to current and future challenges.

Attention will now be shifted to the revealed specifications and any surprises announced during the event, while the technological panorama continues to evolve.
