- Readability: Provides a score based on complexity, sentence length and reliability.

Automattic, the parent company of WordPress.com, has launched an innovative artificial intelligence tool called "Write Brief with AI." Designed to assist bloggers in writing clearer and more concise content, this tool represents a significant step forward in integrating AI technology into the blogging world.

Key Features

"Write Brief with AI" offers a writing assistant that helps users create and optimize content. Using text-based prompts, the tool can suggest changes to make posts more informal or empathetic. It can also indicate when a sentence is too verbose or when the language used is uncertain or overly complex.

This tool has been integrated within the Jetpack suite, which provides a number of advanced features for WordPress websites. Currently, "Write Brief with AI" is available in beta only for WordPress.com sites, but a wider release is planned in the future.

Readability Score

Another key feature of "Write Brief with AI" is the readability score. This score is based on three parameters: text complexity, sentence length, and content reliability. The goal is to help authors create texts that are easily understood by a wider audience.

Access and Usage

WordPress.com users can access "Write Brief with AI" via the Jetpack icon in the editor. This tool not only signals if a sentence is too complex, but also allows users to simplify it automatically with a simple click on the "Suggest" button.

Origins of the Project

The "Write Brief with AI" project was born during an internal Automattic hack week. After finding widespread success and usefulness within the company, it was decided to make it available to the public. "We saw how useful and loved it became quickly and decided to release it to the world," said Noam Almosnino, senior product designer at Automattic, in a post on the company’s blog.

Languages Supported

While the AI writing assistant launched last year by Automattic supports a dozen languages, "Write Brief with AI" is currently limited to English. However, future updates are planned that will extend support to other languages.

With the introduction of "Write Brief with AI," Automattic once again demonstrates its commitment to innovation and improving the user experience for bloggers around the world. Indeed, the combination of AI and blogging platforms could redefine the way we create and consume content online.
